The Children’s Garden at Children’s Corner Preschool began as an end-of-year tradition in one classroom, but before long the seeds spread throughout the entire hallway as teachers nurtured artistic ability with love and encouragement!

Using rulers, tape measures, yarn, and classroom height charts, each child measured their own height to create the stem of their flower. They used handprints as the roots, and designed a unique flower with their smiling face in the center. Along the way, classes explored creativity by including pompom caterpillars, milk carton birdhouses, paper plate snails, and other unique touches in their gardens.

Through this project, children learned about the parts of a flower, explored measurement concepts through hands-on learning, and discovered how reused materials can be transformed into something beautiful. The hallway became a colorful reminder that amazing things can grow when children use creativity and community.
